Teeth Sensitivity
Most people will experience teeth sensitivity at least once in their lifetime. While pain caused by hot or cold items could be a sign of a cavity, it’s also common in people who have sensitive teeth caused due to many reasons. Tooth sensitivity also called dentinal hypersensitivity, is exactly what it sounds like pain or discomfort in the teeth as a response to certain stimuli, such as hot or cold temperatures.

Dental Radiographs
Dental radiographs (x-rays) are the images of the teeth and the oral structures that a dentist uses to evaluate oral health. These radiographs are used with low levels of radiation to capture images of the soft tissues as well as the hard tissues of the oral cavity. X-rays are used to identify the condition of teeth, roots, jaw misplacements, and facial bone abnormalities. These can even be used to identify oral lesions involving bones like tumors and other malignant abnormalities of bones. They are used to determine the depth of the cavity and the amount of bone loss which helps the dentist to properly diagnose and render appropriate treatment to the patient.

Gum Diseases
Gum diseases are of two types: a mild form of gum disease includes gingivitis, and a severe form of gum disease includes periodontitis. Gingivitis means inflammation of the gum which usually happens before periodontitis which means inflammation and destruction of the surrounding tissues of the teeth like periodontal ligament, alveolar bone, etc. Most of the humans get gingival inflammation at some point or the other point in their lives but due to their negligence, it progresses into periodontitis.

Dental Caries
Dental caries or otherwise known as the dental cavity is a very common chronic infectious disease resulting from tooth-adherent cariogenic bacteria, most prominently Streptococcus Mutans, which metabolizes the sugars to produce acid and demineralize the tooth structure over time. Dental caries is a major public health problem and is the most widespread non-communicable disease(NCD).

Parts of A Tooth
Teeth are essential for mastication(chewing) but beyond this function, teeth serve multiple functions including shaping the kinetics of phonation(speech), breathing, maintaining a patent airway, and serving as the foundation for the shape of the face. The maxilla(upper jaw) and mandible(lower jaw), which together form the jaw, contain alveolar bone, a thick ridge of bone that forms the sockets of the teeth.
